Why Join Lambda Chi?
In a very real sense, the Fraternity creates a family
relationship among its members. It aims to bring together
a group of young men who will be congenial, loyal, and
helpful to one another during some of the best years
of their lives-the college years. Thus Lambda Chi Alpha
offers its members the nearest possible equivalent to
home that can be found on the college campus, and these
close ties often bind men in friendships for life.
Associate Membership (Pledging?)
In 1972 Lambda Chi
Alpha replaced pledgeship with Associate
Membership. Associate Members have the same rights as
initiated brothers, and also the same responsibilities.
This beats archaic system of "pledgeship" by fostering both a
tightening of the brotherhood as a whole and increasing
respect for the individuality of its members. We don't
haze.
Associate Members are allowed and encouraged get
involved with everything from day
one, even run for office. In order to make this
work, we check a little harder at
the door, making certain that we pick Associate Members
who meet all of our high standards and membership criteria.
Job Advantages
Recruiters know that the fraternity experience prepares
a man for success. Although fraternity alumni number
less than 2% of the population, they make up 52% of the
U.S. Senate, 33% of the House of Representatives and

corporations. Alumni often help a brother get a job.
